96 meeting for Ibang Klase

The 2nd meeting for the Ibang Klase project will be on May 10, Saturday, 4 PM in Makati (venue TBA).  For those who wish to attend, please leave a message or send an SMS or YM to Mic or Markku.

About the project:
“Ibang Klase” aims to provide children (from the area in front of Pisay) with an alternative classroom experience that highlights nationalism, environmentalism, and volunteerism. These issues will be discussed through non-traditional methods such as story-telling, arts and crafts, and poetry. This project is reminiscent of the Saturday tutorials that as high school students, we used to give to our public school counterparts. We are hoping to reach out to approximately 50 grade school-level children and 15-20 teenagers.
Date: May 24, 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Venue: Pisay Diliman

Pisay Homecoming Registration

Pre-register for the homecoming to get your free tickets!

10 July, 2007 – PSHS Alumni Homecoming REGISTER NOW!
by Iggy Agbayani ’82

Dear fellow PSHS Alumni,

RE: ON-LINE pre-registration for the Alumni Homecoming September 1, 2007

To enable us to provide a very organized and enjoyable Alumni Homecoming evening on September 1, 2007 we have created an ON-LINE pre-registration. What are the advantages of registering on-line?

a) No need to line up to register when you arrive
b) You are reserved a free ticket for food and drinks up to 7 pm (tickets not claimed on or before 7 pm will be provided to walk in alumni) We are preparing for only 600 possible attendees to the homecoming hence only 600 free tickets for food and drinks have so far been allotted.
c) Presently we are still preparing a reward or raffle ticket package for early registrants (ex. Buy one and get one free raffle ticket)
d) Early registration allows the organizers to estimate the number and the profile of attendees and therefore prepare better music, food, drinks, décor and other accommodations.
e) Souvenirs, important announcements, newsletters, postcards and other PSHS homecoming materials may now be mailed, e-mailed or even texted to you.

Please lang dear Pisay Alumnus wag nang Pasaway dahil dina orig ang ganyan, magbago ka na and REGISTER NOW!

Maraming salamat!

PABL Recap: Game 1

[via Hoops and Stuff]

The 2007 Pisay Alumni Basketball League started last July 1 at the PSHS Gym, with 6 games played. Recap of the batch’s first game (vs Batch 98) is as follows:

In easily the biggest game of the opening playdate, two-time champions Batch 96 edged 3-time runners-up Batch 98, 57-55 in OT. Batch 96, featuring the dynamic duo of Jon “The Answer” Aguirre and Peng “Frisbee” Manlapaz, had a chance to ice the game in regulation, but missed FTs allowed 98 to tie and send the game to an extra period. 96 proved steadier in OT however, as they contained Karlo “The Triggerman” Hombrebueno and big man Andrew Pinlac scoreless in the last 5 minutes. Manlapaz led 96with 23 points, supported by Aguirre’s 13. Hans “Macho Man” Acain and Hombrebueno led 98 with 16 points apiece.

Standings as of July 1 are:

Bracket A

92 1-0

batch 96 invades the airwaves

the RockEd radio program for the evening of sunday, june 10, played host to batch 96’s own jonas castelo, joey climaco, don salvacion and markku seguerra. and for about an hour and a half, a lifelong dream of being  heard on air was (somewhat) fulfilled. almost as important, the concerned individuals managed not to make complete fools of themselves (or at least, not too much). whatever the case, we can all heave a collective sigh of relief and give out a cheer of congratulations for our batchmates. kahit na nga ba di kayo nakatugtog sa radyo, narinig pa rin namin kayo.

jonas, joey, don and markku would however like to apologize for not being able to greet anyone during the duration of the broadcast. they also thank everyone who tuned in, texted in comments in the middle of the broadcast, and generally showed any interest and offered their support. ang tagumpay ng isa, tagumpay nating lahat. whatever. let’s hope the next broadcast would involve some music though. sayang naman yung boses ni jonas.

jonas, markku, joey and don on air

come sunday, june 10, pop ratio’s dreams of being heard on air will come true. they, however, will not be playing their music. rather, they’ll be guesting in NU 107’s RockEd radio. they will not be on air as musicians, but as doctors, an experienced and unexperienced individual (take your pick as to who fits which bill). the topic: sex. go figure.

it may sound interesting for you. it may not. but it’s bound to be a riot hearing your batchmates talking about something they’re genuinely interested in, not really experts in, and basically just making fools of themselves on air. don’t miss it. sunday, june 10, 8pm. NU107 RockEd radio.
