Laguna medical and deworming mission: volunteers needed, donations wanted

Barangay Atisan is situated in the outskirts of the province of Laguna, near San Pablo City’s border with Tiaong, Quezon and Lipa City, Batangas. Most of the families live upland and have to travel several kilometers on foot to reach the Barangay Poblacion. The Barangay Midwife serves as the lone staff of the Barangay Health Center but is only available one day a week to provide consultations on health issues of the residents. Medical supplies and provisions are provided by the provincial government but the supplies are few and are not enough to cater to all members of the community.

Join us, the Philippine Science High School Classes of 1996 and 1997, and extend hands to the residents of Barangay Atisan, San Pablo City, for a worthwhile endeavor through a medical and deworming mission scheduled on 18 April 2010.

Dear Alumni…

February 2, 2010

Dear Alumni,

As a fellow alumni and faculty coordinator I am writing to request your important participation as a sponsor of the renovation of the faculty room that was completely burned 2 years ago. We need to raise P5 million pesos so that we can finish the job before June.

The 35 teachers occupying the faculty room are relocated in a lab with two teachers sharing 1 table each. It has become difficult for them to do their job in such conditions. We would like to start renovation this quarter and hopefully give the teachers the space they need by June. We are raising P6 million pesos for this project and we have so far raised P1 million pesos.

As you think back on your time in PSHS, you may, as I do truly appreciate what a PSHS education has meant to you through the years since graduation. And, I hope those memories will inspire you to consider a generous gift in honor of our teachers.

Donations may be coursed through the PSHS Foundation with the following options :

  1. Cash or check donations
    • For payment at the PSHS Office, 2nd floor PSHS
    • For pick up (call the PSHSFI office)
    • For deposit to: PSHS Foundation Inc.
      • BPI Current Account No. 4431-0000-54
      • BPI Dollar Account No. 4431-0000-39
      • BDO Savings Account No. 9011-0838
      • Metrobank Current Account No 007-186-51649-0
  2. SMS/Text Donations
    • Globe G-Cash: Type ‘amount_MPIN(4 numbers) and send to 2882-917-577-4734
    • Smart Money: (Please call 924-0655)ul
  3. US-based donations through Ayala Foundation at www.af-usa.org Upon receipt of your donation, the Ayala Foundation will issue an official receipt and acknowledgment receipt. These documents are important when you file and claim tax deductibility. They will then inform us of your donation and transfer the donation to our account.

Please send your deposit/transaction slip via fax (924-0655) or email [email protected] or text/sms Liza Claveria (+63922) 8558420. Indicate that the donation is for the faculty room.

Once again, thank you very much for your continuous support and cooperation.

Maraming salamat at Maligayang Pasko

In behalf of all the children who participated in the recently conducted Streetkids’ Christmas Party in UP Diliman, we would like to thank you for your support, participation, donation, and other contributions to the project. We hope that you enjoyed the activity as much as we all did. Some of the children who showed up have been attending the activity since 2006 and we know that the annual tradition is something they look forward to during the holiday season. We also know that it means a lot to them that there are people out there like you who go out of their way to share what they have and let them enjoy themselves even if only for a day.

So again, maraming salamat.

Maligayang Pasko. We wish you and your loved ones all the best for the coming years.

Sincerely,

Pisay 96

Congrats Tubay!

Congratulations to Rossette Yabut for topping the list of the country’s newly-licensed Interior Designers.

Rossette, or Tubay as we all fondly know her, received her degree in Interior Design from the De La Salle University – College of Saint Benilde. She then proceeded to teach at the PSHS Main Campus.

I guess this just proves that she’s not only one of the country’s brightest, she’s one of the most creative as well.
